This series of images is based on paintings that were left unfinished by artists throughout history. The paintings have been ‘finished’ by Adobe Photoshop CS5’s Content-Aware Fill feature.

Running for some time now, the Computers Club Drawing Society has been steadily expanding its band of contributors. As each post accrues from the current members, more sub-folders for aesthetic concerns in computer composition are broken down and simply put. Current members include Alexandria McCrosky, Rene Abyth, Robert Lorayn, Krist Wood, Petra Cortright, Sara Ludy, Rafael Rozendaal, Travess Smalley and others, among more recent members. Through specific, and basic tooling, compression algorithms, pixelated line-work, and other throwbacks, the drawings on display mirror the form of traditional outcomes, but retain a softcore digital alignment. Digital paintings, drawings, or some combine? Deep down, hiding behind the cursor, adequate terminology lurks. But out here in the hazy no-burn for alternative terms, Computers Club Drawing Society plunders faithfully on, occasional, breezy and collected.
